WELCOME TO NICOLE TSITSOPOULOS'S MATH BLOG!

Hello everyone and welcome to my Math Blog! My name is Nicole Tsitsopoulos. I am a Brock University Teacher Candidate. My first teachable is Chemistry, and my second teachable is Mathematics.

This is a blog about mathematics, teaching, reflection, learning and technology. The goal of this blog is to reflect on my experiences in my teaching for math course from two perspectives; a future educator and a student. There are many challenges facing mathematics in education today and this blog will critically analyze my experience with the current mathematics curriculum and my overall philosophy of mathematics education. This blog also will reflect new ways I have learned throughout my educational career on ways to effectively teach math in schools today, and reflect on my previous experiences teaching math in the classroom. I will analyze how today's mathematics curriculum prepares students for their future roles in society and this blog will investigate ways that future educators like myself, and others will be able to provide a framework in their math classrooms for students to accomplish their math goals.

Further, as a future mathematics educator, questions to consider for my future blog posts are as followed:

“Why do we need to teach/learning mathematics?”
“How to differentiate student learning in the classroom?”
“How many ways are there to solve multiple math problems?”
“How can we help individuals think critically, solve problems mathematically while connecting the math problems to their everyday lives?”
“How can we make mathematics fun for everyone?”
“How can we teach math using technology?”

I invite you to come back to this page and stay tuned for more blog posts coming your way! Remember, math is everywhere! See you next time. Let the math quest begin.
